Therapists, you’ve been there before.
A few weeks into working with your client, and it feels like you’re both following maps that lead in different directions.
Or maybe, along the journey, your client starts doing things that make it difficult to keep moving forward —
→ calling too often
→ canceling last minute
→ or outright resisting the next steps.
You find yourself sliding into a pit of burnout, & know that something needs to happen quickly to get you & your client back on track.
While many strategies exist to navigate these “bumps in the road,” a crucial skill set is often overlooked.
Orientation is typically treated as something that happens only at the beginning of treatment, and then forgotten. Many therapists don’t realize how in doing this, they are leaving an incredibly strong resource on the table!
This Workshop is for you if...
You are a therapist experiencing burnout and feel as if your work is taking over your life.
You find that you and your clients feel as if you are on different pages when it comes to treatment planning.
You consider "orientation" to be something limited to the start of treatment.
You have some clients that you are experiencing a "drift" with and want a plan to get back on track.
You don’t have a gameplan for what to orient clients to and could use a structure.
Therapists who attend this training will be able to do the following after completing this workshop:
Identify 1-2 deficits in their current orienting practices with clients.
Outline 1-2 barriers that interfere with utilizing orienting practices after the orientation period is complete.
List 1-3 strategies to implement with orientation moving forward to enhance treatment outcomes and minimize therapist burnout.
